Description
The Calendar of the Canterbury University College for the year 1940. The pages 16 and 17 of the Calendar list the college academic staff by departments. In the department of Philosophy, the Professor of Philosophy is Ivan Sutherland, appointed in 1937, and the Lecturer in Philosophy is Karl Popper (Ph.D., from Vienna, with the address in Christchurch at 13 Kidson Terrace). The pages 138-139 contain the syllabus of courses in philosophy.
