The Calendar of the Canterbury University College for the year 1944. The pages 17-19 of the Calendar list the college academic staff in 1944 by departments. In the department of Philosophy (p.18), the Professor of Philosophy is Ivan Sutherland, appointed in 1937, and the Senior Lecturer in Philosophy is Karl Popper (Ph.D., from Vienna, with the address in Christchurch at 14a Westerna Terrace). The pages 157-158 contain the syllabus of courses in philosophy.
