Description
The Calendar of the Canterbury University College for the year 1948. The pages 16 and 17 of the Calendar list the college academic staff in 1948 by departments. In the department of Philosophy (p.17), Professor of Philosophy is Ivan Sutherland, appointed in 1937, and the Lecturer in Philosophy is Arthur N. Prior, M.A. The syllabus of courses in philosophy is given on page 95. On page 110 is the section "Publications and researches, Philosophy", where two articles by Artur Prior are listed: "Eighteenth century writers on twentieth century subjects" published in the Australasian journal of psychology and philosophy in Dec. 1946 and "Supralapsarianism", published in the Presbyter in the Third Quarter in 1947.
