Description
The Calendar of the Canterbury University College for the year 1947. The pages 16 and 17 of the Calendar list the college academic staff in 1947 by departments. In the department of Philosophy (p. 17), Professor of Philosophy is Ivan Sutherland, appointed in 1937, and Lecturer in Philosophy is Arthur N. Prior. Pages 93-94 contain the syllabus of courses in philosophy. On page 111, the section "Publications and researches, Philosophy" includes Artur Prior's article "The nature of ethics", published in the Australasian journal of philosophy.
